Isn't this picture priceless? I met Lori through our Bird of the Month Contest in August. Her baby Uno won for the month of August. Ever since then, Lori has been surprising me and delighting me by sending me photographs of her cockatiel chicks and other feathered children. I have been able to visually follow the progress of these little miracles from day 1 of hatching for over 2 months now. This is something that I have only dreamed of and thought I would not be able to  see for a very long time. As much as I would like to breed cockatiels, I haven't been able to do so because of lack of space in my home.The photographs and information that she has been sending me have helped me gain so much more knowledge about baby cockatiels.

I have also met 2 other breeders through the Bird of the Month Contest. Nadeana  and Gretchen have also sent me photographs of her teeny, tiny chicks from the moment of hatching up until weaning. All of the photographs that these 3 ladies have sent me literally took my breath away. I can't thank them enough for sharing this wonderful experience with me. Because of their generosity and willingness to share knowledge with others, all 3 ladies are giving me permission to use their photographs for the December Birds of the Month pages. I can't think of anything more appropriate for the holidays, which are indeed for the little ones, than to feature just baby cockatiels!
