Oatmeal Raisin Balls for
2 large baked sweet potatoes
1/2 cup chopped raisins
1 cup shredded carrots
1 cup diced peaches
1-1/2 cup quick cooking oatmeal
Bring oatmeal to a boil, cook 1-2 minutes & drain water. Set aside to cool.
In food processor or blender, (or mash with a fork) blend sweet potatoes, banana, peaches and carrots until smooth.
Add oatmeal and mix or puree until smooth.
Stir in raisins with wooden spoon.
Roll into small balls and store in Ziplocs. You can also drop by teaspoons into
ice cube trays for freezing instead --easier and less messy. Refrigerate or freeze and defrost as needed.

It originally had 1-1/2 cups of uncooked oatmeal
Oatmeal, as well as raw sweet potatoes, contains enzyme inhibitors. Before serving them
to parrots they should be
cooked to deactivate enzymes. You may have to play
around with this recipe
to get the right consistency for rolling balls--or you may want to try
